Historical Significance: The Stewart House Museum was the family home of Founder Mary “Minnie” Stewart and the birthplace of Kappa Kappa Gamma. This beautiful 1865 prairie-style Victorian house shares what life was like for the Stewart family in the downstairs rooms that have been restored to their Victorian glory. The grounds include a wide variety of trees and plants, a pair of engraved bricks in honor and memory of Kappas and friends, and a newly dedicated Sesquicentennial Garden in honor of Kappa Kappa Gamma’s 150th anniversary. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is situated on nearly two acres adjacent to Monmouth College campus.
